In what was an eventful round of Motsepe Foundation Championship action this week, Cape Town Spurs were the biggest winners during matchday 26, following their resounding 4-0 victory against Pretoria Callies at Athlone Stadium on Tuesday.

In desperate need of a victory, the Urban Warriors ended their three-match drawing streak with a convincing win against Callies, who are likewise hoping to avoid the drop this season.

The result saw the Pretoria side slip into 15th place on 27 points, while the Western-Cape outfit moved into 13th spot with 28 points to their name.

Elsewhere, in what was news that gripped the South African football fraternity, Durban City announced that Sinamandla Zondi passed away during their fixture against Milford at the Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday.
