Orlando Pirates have officially confirmed the departure of two key players, Monnapule Saleng and Phillip Ndlondlo, as part of their squad reshuffle ahead of the 2025/26 season.

In a statement released on the club’s website, the Buccaneers announced that midfielder Phillip Ndlondlo has parted ways with the club and thanked him for his contribution over the three years he spent with them.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm the departure of midfielder Phillip Ndlondlo. The 28-year-old is now free to sign with a club of his choice. Ndlondlo, who joined the Buccaneers in 2022, made a number of notable contributions during his time in the famous black and white. The Club extends its sincere gratitude to Phillip for his professionalism and commitment during his spell at Orlando Pirates and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career,” the club said.

SALENG RETURNS TO OLD CLUB

Meanwhile, speculation around Monnapule Saleng has been put to bed with confirmation that he will return to the club where his professional journey began.

“An agreement has been reached with Orbit College FC for the loan of Monnapule Saleng. The 27-year-old will spend the 2025/26 season with the newly crowned outfit,” the club confirmed.

The move is seen as an opportunity for Saleng to revive his career after a frustrating 2024/25 campaign, during which he made only five appearances.

His last outing came in December against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League, sparking rumours of a potential move to North Africa.

The loan move to Orbit College, now under the guidance of coach Pogiso Makhoye, is expected to offer Saleng a much-needed fresh start.

The North West-based club, recently promoted to the Premier Soccer League, is actively strengthening its squad with experienced players as it prepares for its top-flight debut.
