England's Brown wins second European Tour title in Germany

Daniel Brown held on to win his second European Tour title at the BMW International Open in Munich on Sunday, edging out fellow Englishman Jordan Smith by two shots.

The world number 170, who led by one stroke overnight, carded a final-round 66 to finish on 22 under par for the tournament.

"I lost a friend at home last weekend. I don't know what to say really, but that was for him," said Brown.

"The last two days I've been thinking about him to try and take my mind off it, obviously try not to get too emotional in the process."

Smith pulled level with Brown after the front nine on 20-under, but three bogeys on the inward half put paid to his chances despite a closing 67.

New Zealand's 307th-ranked Kazuma Kobori finished four shots back in third after a sparkling nine-under 63.
